What started out as a six month sabbatical ended up as a two year break from full-time work. My last day at Splunk was August 3rd, 2023.

Here at 20 months in, I have spent my time
- Watching the 600 foot Kilauea vulcano eruption at 4am, thank you Katherine for your meticulous planning!
- Be a backyard farmer, growth avocados, papayas, kona coffee, pineapples, heliconia and working on the yard 1 hour a day.
- Watching Kona sunset every evening with the love of my life.
- Spending more time learning about Big Island history (Spencer beach)
- Hosting 3 groups of visitors from the mainland
- Spending time on the mainland (Aloha!) for Chinese New Year
- Spending time my daughter @ceik0 set up shop at Carrier Con to sell her art
- Playing my first NTRP 4.0 tournament, against my coach!
- Growing my little tutoring business on Wyzant since November 2024. My goal for 2025 is to either reach a certain amount a month or 2 hours a day or 10 hour a week spent helping people with computer science questions.

- When I saw my tutoring students not knowing the basics of vim, gdb, Linux shell, I started a small YouTube channel called the Basics of Software Engineering – Tony the Tutor
